Case 01
Forty-person logistics SME, two Singapore entities plus one Malaysia holding structure
Challenge
They were spending four days every quarter reconciling inter-company loans and GST across QuickBooks files, then paying their external accountant $1,800 per quarter to clean up the mess and file XBRL for both entities.
Approach
We migrated three years of transaction history from two separate QuickBooks accounts into Cathode Ledger's multi-entity module, mapped their inter-company GL codes, and walked their finance admin through one full quarter-close in parallel with the old system.
Outcome
By quarter two on Cathode, their ops manager—who is not an accountant—closed the books and filed both GST returns in under six hours, with no external accountant involved. They cut their quarterly accounting bill by seventy per cent and redeployed those hours to cash-flow forecasting.
Case 02
Twelve-person creative agency, single entity, previously on spreadsheets and Wave for invoicing
Challenge
They had no proper audit trail and were manually copying invoice data into Excel every month. When their bank asked for six months of P&L during a credit review, they spent two weeks reconstructing it from PDFs and email threads.
Approach
Imported two years of bank statements and Wave invoice exports, rebuilt their chart of accounts to IRAS standards, and set up automated DBS bank-feed reconciliation so every transaction matched to a GL line without manual copy-paste.
Outcome
Their founder—who wears the finance hat—now generates a full P&L and balance sheet in under ten minutes at month-end, and the export is audit-ready. When they applied for an ESG grant three months later, they had the financial reporting pack ready same-day.
Case 03
Eight-person F&B distributor, one entity, migrating from Xero
Challenge
Xero worked fine for compliance, but every time they added a user or turned on inventory tracking, the monthly bill jumped. By year two they were paying $95/month for features they barely used, and their staff still found the UI confusing.
Approach
Migrated their full Xero history in five business days, rebuilt their workflows around plain-language prompts instead of accounting terms, and gave them unlimited user seats so their warehouse lead could log purchase orders without a separate licence.
Outcome
They cut their monthly SaaS cost by forty-five per cent, their warehouse lead now enters supplier invoices directly into the system, and their ops manager told us the UI 'finally speaks human.' Month-end close time dropped from two days to four hours.
